The EVIL INSURANCE EMPIRE doesn't like us using Diagnodent, Canary, Spectra, CariVu, etc. (or any of the other similar devices which help us to diagnose pit, fissure and groove caries we would otherwise miss.)
3 Reasons I Am CONFIDENT I Was Doing Right by My Patients
We still have a choice. We can either lay down and roll over and take it from the insurance companies (and the Board of Registration) or ARM YOURSELF with whatever it takes to continue to perform WHAT YOU PERSONALLY BELIEVE in your mind and your heart to be APPROPRIATE and NECESSARY care for your patients. These 3 points below are just some of what convinced me to continue to do what I knew was best for my patients regardless of what any third party might have to say about the "excessive claims of one surface resin restorations" that my associates and I performed in my practices.
Pretty sad that hourly clerks in the insurance industry can cause such havoc in our practices and potential damage to our doctor patient relationship. Ironic that they work for INSURANCE GIANTS whose SOLE MOTIVATION IS MAXIMUM PROFIT... and they should be passing judgment on us?!
The Results of Research Published in a Respected Peer-Reviewed Journal
This was perhaps the biggest shock. An article I found (you MUST get a copy of this article for your office) indicated that, "...only 24% of the carious lesions were discovered by probing for stickiness... probing proved to be unreliable for the diagnosis of fissure caries." GG12 members, you may download a copy of the abstract on our members' website under Diagnodent Killer Graphics and Verbal Skills.
My Conversation with Dr. Gordon Christensen
Although I was confident that my use of Diagnodent was appropriate and necessary, and that my decision to use the baseline number I chose (and not the corporate line Kavo recommends) was resulting in ACCURATE DIAGNOSIS OF CARIES TO DENTIN, I was curious how Dr. Gordon Christensen felt about the accuracy of the device. He told me that he and Rella were using a number 7 below my chosen point as their baseline and were consistently finding caries to dentin using that reading. NOTE: the baseline number you use to determine whether or not to treat a tooth may vary from device to device as well as operator preference. You must make your own determination based upon your own experience.
Join me for a complimentary LIVE Webinar during which you will learn how to maximize revenue through the use of Laser Cavity Detection (e.g. Diagnodent, Canary, Spectra, CariVu, etc.) without concern of over treating... just the opposite... you'll understand the science and the research that supports the FACT that most dentists are routinely MISSING pit, fissure and groove caries 76% of the time when using an explorer to examine for caries.
IF YOU ALREADY OWN A DIAGNODENT (or other similar device) you should still attend this webinar! I'll be sharing concepts, verbal skills, protocols and more that will take even the most avid Diagnodent users and jump one quantum leap forward.
IF YOU DO NOT OWN A DIAGNODENT (or similar device) this is a DO NOT MISS program for you as well. I'll be covering the very basics as well as many advanced concepts and strategies.
What would it mean to you and to your patients if you were able to far more accurately (and earlier) able to diagnose caries to dentin... caries that research proves you are missing 76% or the time?
